I can only hope their decisions continue to be their own as they get older...no doubt the pressure increases through the years. Thanks for all you do to celebrate who my kids are!

The fact that your kids are advancing at a pace and stride that they personally feel comfortable with is, to me, a sign that their decisions will be their own, and not those influenced by others. Fast-forward to the teen years (light years away, I know, but coming sooner than you think), and be thankful and hopeful that these character traits are still in full force. I've never known, say, a 10 year old who wasn't potty trained, couldn't ride a bike, etc. These little things in life come naturally to all, and I personally admire those that do so at their own pace and don't succumb to pressure. It sets a pattern for years to come and hopefully helps prevent them from making mistakes or exercising poor judgment that they might regret. Good job, Amy! Your children are beautiful and I so enjoy watching them grow no matter how fast or slow. Enjoy every second...

Big is just like my oldest daughter was.....an observer, a perfectionist. And look how well she is doing now!
Little is like my youngest....rambunctious, energetic, happy-go-lucky. And look how well she is doing now!

Oh, Jodie. The rules of a kindergartener never end, do they? We have epic battles around here...and not the kind with lightsabers.

As for lice, it's a matter of *when* not *if*. Most of our friends have had it and it just seems to be going around and around the school. No doubt I've tempted the lice gods and will be doing a Cetaphil rinse soon.

And wow. The balloon biter was like nothing I've ever seen. He ran from balloon animal to balloon flower to balloon wings faster than anyone could turn to see him. (And they were each a minimum of four balloons.) I was sitting feeding Pink and watched helplessly...and in awe.

Hope you enjoyed your weekend too!
