Lesson #1: I look forward to the day when toilet bowl bleach isn’t the appropriate cleaning agent for our tub.
Lesson #2: Someone at our local Target has a wicked sense of humor. Moving the lingerie section across from the young boys’ clothing couldn’t have been a coincidence, right?
Lesson #3: Moms should get M&Ms for making it through the “first day of school” pictures. Especially when the kid picks out the outfit. We should also get lollipops at the doctor’s office. Especially when the word “surgery” is involved.
Lesson #4: Though (most of) the houses in our neighborhood are small, the people’s hearts are big. As are their dance moves. And their wine pours.
Lesson #5: Being friends with the generous bartenders at our neighborhood dance party wasn’t so great after all.
I hope you had a squeaky clean, awe-inspiring, simply sweet, groovy, memorable weekend! Please feel free to share your lessons from the week in the comments. I love hearing from you!

Speaking of the dance moves…I’m “moved” when I think of the amazing moves of those 4 “tween” boys right in front of the DJ–big smiles, pure confidence, true friendship. Loved it.
It was so sweet. I loved that all the kids felt confident enough around their parents and friends to really let loose and celebrate life!
I learned 2 things…
1. NEVER underestimate the awesomeness of a face painter at a party. It’s an activity AND decorations AND a party favor all in one!
and
2. Apparently, one can never watch Astro Boy (or any other kiddie movie) too many times ;)!
**funny thing about Target… the next thing you know, they’ll move the candy aisle across from the fitness gear!
Wow, so your kids don’t cry and run away from the face painter? No, of course they don’t. Yes, of course mine do.
Astro Boy? Is this a must see? We’re partial to the Chipmunk and Toy Story movies in our house. I’ll have to check this out for a change of pace (as if a change of pace is ever a good thing in our house).
Finn is all about the face painter… or he just gets something painted on his arm. Seamus wants nothing to do with them. I think he just likens it to being at the doctor and is waiting for someone to look inside his ear…
As for Astro Boy.. it’s free on On Demand right now… it’s basically a kid superhero and he has guns that come out of his butt so Finn thinks That’s the most hilarious thing ever.;)
