It’s been a busy week filled with earthquake and tornado warnings, huge rain storms, delayed flights and stir-crazy kids. But we were reminded this St. Patrick’s Day that we are pretty darn lucky—not only to be Irish—but to have lots of reasons to laugh and love.

Lesson #1: When both Lenny and I travel in the same week, it can be tough on the kids. (I’ve based this assumption on the grocery cart I came across, pictured here.)

Lesson #2: If the leprechauns bring a pot of green M&Ms one year, they better not forget to do it the following year. I think a disappointed Big is still searching the house. (And both kids are still blaming every mess or missing toy on those feisty little guys.)

Lesson #3: While my baby girl is proving she’s no shrunken violet by remaining undefeated in baby vs. bladder, she’s going to be rough and tumble in pink and ruffles. I know, I swore I wouldn’t be like this, but my hormones got the best of me at the Gap friends and family sale the other day.

Lesson #4: It’s amazing the topics you can cover during 45-minute drive with an almost-5-year old. This week Big wanted to discuss death, jail, animals who don’t have teeth, Katy Perry (which led to 4th of July) and a few other things in between.

Lesson #5: When you’re forced to stay at a hotel across the bay from your conference (due to your own poor planning, of course), and the staff’s suggested modes of transportation back and forth are 1) a tandem bike and 2) a booze cruise, you can assume they aren’t used to hosting to pregnant bloggers.

I hope you came across a four leaf clover, pot of gold or (at the very least) a Guinness this week.

oooo ima gonna steal that pot-o-green m&ms idea for next year 🙂 Although, i guess if I do it one year, then it’s going to become an annual tradition 😉 Do they do a hunt for it or is it left with a note? 😉

If only I could remember… I think it was just on the kitchen table with a note from Lenny the Leprechaun. Last year, that is. This year, just St. Patty’s Day stickers all over the house (which I may regret when I try to remove them) and green milk.
