It’s been quite an eventful week around here, including three hours of naps for me today. Turns out there are some upsides to drama!

Lesson #1: When I went to Bloggy Boot Camp last weekend, I was given an amazing bag full of Good Cook brand utensils (apparently my kids aren’t the only ones who think my cooking needs help!) which UPS shipped home for me for free (angels!). But it turns out that the real gift came in the form of a UPS box and packing peanuts. They’ve provided hours of entertainment for Big and Little during this rainy week.

Lesson #2: While on any given day, I don’t appreciate—or even think about—my ankles or belly button, I was sad to officially say goodbye to both of them this week. I look forward to seeing them again in a few months.

Lesson #3: Sometimes even a mom needs her Mommy and Daddy, and I feel so lucky that mine were able to be here for me this week.

Lesson #4: They say little girls are sugar, spice and everything nice…with a fair amount of drama, too. Mine has definitely nailed the drama part (she’ll fit right in to this family!). Thanks to some contractions, we got to enjoy our first girls’ night together at the hospital and now she’s got me stuck in bed for her big brother’s birthday week. While we’re all excited to meet her, we’re all very glad that she hasn’t arrived and hope that she’ll be patient now that she’s got more of my attention.

Lesson #5: It turns out bed rest trumps even a man cold. A sick Lenny has been wonderful keeping the boys entertained (with the help of wonderful friends, of course) while I’ve been out of commission. Good news for the boys, he has no voice so they can’t even hear him yelling at them.

Here’s to a week of appreciating the little things and enjoying the loved ones who surround you!

And so the drama begins…She is just warming you up for the real production – the rest of your lives together! Glad to hear you will get some rest, even if it is not the best circumstances. Take some more naps, drink a lot of water, and think pink!
    We are thinking of you.
    Love Grandma and Grandpa H.

I love the idea of this blog series – very cool! I was thrilled that they offered to UPS all that stuff for free, it was very kind of them!
