I did! In person. At a nice lunch. For bloggers. And I wore a dress. With just a little spit up on it. But they didn’t seem to mind. In fact, Pink was very warmly welcomed, as was I. No surprise really, given the business.
Citrus Lane was started by a couple moms who had a fun idea (and who also happen to be really cool to hang out with…and not just to somebody who’s desperate for adult conversation…about kids). What if each month a package arrived at your door with a bunch of cool stuff that was developmentally appropriate for your newborn (up to 18 months)? Fun, right?
Well, after touring the headquarters, chatting with the dedicated and enthusiastic team (which awesomely happens to include interns who are moms re-entering the workforce) and sharing a few ideas of my own (as if they could stop me!), I can confirm that it is, indeed, fun. They’re doing their research to ensure that each box comes with cool, organic/green products that you might not know about, but can easily repurchase if you like them. And they’re listening to feedback to improve the boxes and keep things fresh.
Fun shower gift (buy individual boxes). Fun group gift (get a subscription say from the office/book club/neighborhood). Fun giveaway. What, you say? Yep, fun giveaway. (My first. Ever.) Anyone who comments before October 3rd will be entered to win the box pictured above. Fun, right?
As I mentioned, they’re open to feedback and ideas (and they even gave me their contact info…bold, I know), so if you know of a cool product they might want to check out, please share it.
Disclosure: Citrus Lane hosted me for a luncheon at their headquarters, held my baby while I ate (can’t put a price tag on that!) and gave me two of their monthly boxes (which typically cost $25 each). One for Pink (bring on the teething goodies!) and one for you. “You” being whoever wins my random drawing by submitting a comment, of course. As I’ve updated my About page to reflect, I promise I will only write about brands that I truly enjoy and think you will too.
Wow Amy! This sounds like a great idea, especially for a shower gift. I have a shower coming up this month and I am going to look into this. Thanks, as always, for your posts and great referrals.
Great! I’m glad you thought it was as cool as I did. Enjoy the shower (not to mention your little cutie pies)!
What a great idea! I love that you can gift it too.
Yeah, you can even gift it to yourself. 🙂
I love this idea! The wine club for mommies. 🙂 All of my friends are having babies and this is a such a good and different shower gift idea. I love your blog, Amy! I’m 1 month away from having my first baby and your blog is giving me a lot to think about, be excited for, and scared of!
It’s so great to hear from you, Amanda. Congratulations! I look forward to pics and stories from you as you join the adventures of motherhood. Really, there’s nothing to be scared of. Babies ease you in…you won’t be spending your mornings applying temporary tattoos for a couple years, at least.
What a great idea! I love that they are Mom friendly all the way around and have “interns”. That will be me someday – I can only hope that other Mom friendly companies take their cue in that respect.
I know, I absolutely loved that about them. The owner actually said that a couple moms approached them and they loved the idea, so, when the time comes, go for it. Mom-owned companies are really smart about stuff like that! (PS- At least one of the interns is now full time!)
Love this idea for a gift. It’s not often you can buy a baby gift that doesn’t get outgrown in a month!
That could be their tagline. So true!
Pick me! I’m due with my second in 8 days and could use some post partum pick me up! Congratulations on how well the blog has evolved, Amy 🙂
So exciting, Anne. Congratulations on baby #2! I look forward to hearing baby news soon. Thanks so much for checking in and good luck to you!
Anne, you must have put all that positive winning energy out into the universe. You’re the lucky winner! I’ll email you with details. Congrats! And thanks to everyone who commented.
