Big has a little over 3 weeks left of kindergarten. While I’m sad to say goodbye to a great year, I’m really looking forward to the lazy days of summer. (Then again, even our “lazy” days begin around 6am.) I should be signing up for camps and planning trips, but instead I’m just looking forward to nothing. Well, not exactly nothing. We have a few things going on here or there, but I’m really (yes, seriously) just looking forward to spending time with my kids. I wrote about how I’m going to make the most of my time as my Shine Parenting Guru post this month. I hope you’ll click on over and read more.

(Posted this on Shine, but thought I’d re-post my comment here, too)

I only have 4 weeks of vacation with Finn – one will be Vacation Bible School and another will be a family vacation… I’ve been debating if we should enroll in some sort of camp or class or just wing it… Regardless, I think we’ll definitely have to do a Summer Fun Wish List so we’re more Phineas and Ferb than Beavis and Butthead.. and I like the jar idea, too for insta-fun on a partial day 🙂 Have a great summer.. and if you head down here, be sure to give us a call!!!

I have the opposite feelings right now. We have 14 school days left with our students and I am realizing every minute how much we’re going to miss them. It’s funny, though. They seem to have absolutely no concept of the year almost being over. You’re probably right not to plan too much, too far ahead. I mean, the summers are never as long as we think they are, right?

So true. I hope the last 14 days are memorable ones!

You read my mind!! I haven’t gotten caught up in the whole summer camp/activity planning that most of my friends have. I keep thinking this is my last summer with Brooke before she goes to Kindergarten all day (8-3) five days a week! My days are open for whatever comes to mind and I’m so looking forward to it. Although, I do get a little worried some days when we’ve been cooped up for too long that I may actually go crazy. :). We were debating on a road trip to NorCal, so maybe we can actually see each other finally! Love the jar idea! Definitely stealing that one! 🙂

[…] Lesson #1: I should really take my own advice. You know, the one about the three-year old on a two wheeler and the FSA contribution? Yeah, well, I didn’t. And I wore a new shirt. I was just begging for a bloody day, and Little obliged. We can now check chin stitches off our summer to do list! […]
