As my kids have been watching Phineas and Ferb this past week, I couldn’t help but think we needed our own song. And by “we”, I mean the moms (and dads) who work so hard to make the back-to-school transition as seamless as possible. So, on the eve of my kids’ first day of school, here it is…to the tune of the Phineas and Ferb theme song.

There’s 104 days of summer vacation
And we figured out how to spend it
So the annual problem for the mom generation
Is finding a good way to END it

Like maybe…
Packing a lunchbox
Or fighting the hair knots
Or climbing up the laundry tower

Discovering something that isn’t prepared (Hey!)
Or giving that stinker a shower
Surfing brilliant tips
Creating schedule slots
Or locating lazy kid’s brain (It’s over here!)

Finding clean underwear
Pouring some cereal
Or driving the kiddos insane (Little!)

As you can see
There’s a whole lot of stuff to do
Before school starts this fall (Come on Pink)

So stick with us ’cause Mom (and Dad)
Are gonna do it all
So stick with us ’cause Mom (and Dad) are
Gonna do it all!
(Big! Mom and Dad are making us clean our room again!)

Awesome! Just belted it out for my resident 6 year old who gravely told me “Mom that sounds like a lot of work, not fun! I don’t think you can do it all!”

Ooh, I can’t sing. Wanna come sing it to my kids? Glad you had some fun with it!

You could have your own version with all YOU had to do going back as a teacher, as well. Thanks for taking a break for some comic relief!

You’re insane. In a good way, but still insane.

      Insanity is entertaining at least…right?

Considering you listen to Phineas and Ferb on a regular basis, that’s the highest compliment!
