Well, my friends, I was under a pile of kleenex the weather this week, so I’m afraid the icks made me less observant/insightful/inspired. I just couldn’t take on the pressure of my 100th lessons post today, but that didn’t stop me entirely. Here goes…

Lesson #1: When a little one is learning to talk, we all tend to project what we want to hear her say. “I think she just said ‘Love you!’” Or “Did she just say ‘You look pretty?’” Or, in Little’s case, “She just said ‘Mama, you’re a loser.’”

Lesson #2: Surely a secure, grown woman wouldn’t call to make a hair appointment moments after her 4-year old says, “Why is the top of your hair black and the rest of it brown?” Then again, that woman wouldn’t have a fresh new look like I do.

Lesson #3: Having a bad cough the week following Easter is nature’s way of forcing you to do an ab workout as you inhale jelly beans.

Lesson #4: You know it’s time to reign in your family’s eating habits when your toddler requests pancakes and pizza for breakfast.

Lesson #5: Behind every virtual world, there’s a real one. And this week I get to visit the Club Penguin headquarters to see what goes on behind the scenes. (In case you’re not familiar with Club Penguin, it’s a safe and friendly online virtual world for kids to play, socialize, and create. Here’s a link to the page for parents.) I’ll be attending the Club Penguin Summit, an event for bloggers, and can’t wait to share my experience with you. Big recently started playing Club Penguin as part of his daily screen time and he’s loving it. (Little’s loving it too since he gets the whole couch to himself come cartoon time.) If you have any questions for the gurus in Kelowna, British Columbia, just leave a comment here or email me (usingourwords@yahoo.com). Stay tuned for more…

And, if you’ve been missing my Disney Baby posts, I like to think this is a good bunch (though I may be biased). I hope you’ll check ‘em out.

We’re definitely in the mood for outdoor fun, and these are some of the signs…

Wishing you all the pizza, pancakes, and penguins you could possibly want this week. And more.
