The last two days I’ve had the pleasure of spending some time with Susan of 5 Minutes for Mom. She’s one of the moms behind The Ultimate Blog Party that’s taking the blogging world by storm right now. She encouraged me to join in, so here’s a bit about me…

Ultimate Blog Party 2013
I spent many years in the corporate world as an advertising copywriter. I learned to use my words to promote worldwide brands online, in print, on the radio, and at events. After a few years at LA ad agencies, I moved to Northern California to get married and work at Yahoo!. After 7 years in the in-house creative department at Yahoo!, I moved departments to head up our blogger outreach program, The Yahoo! Mother Board. If working with 80 highly influential bloggers (who all happen to be successful moms, too) isn’t motivation to take a chance, I don’t know what is. So, just a couple months into that role in June of 2010, I decided to start my own blog. You’re looking at it.

When I started out, I was a mom of two silly, but soulful little boys. Now those little boys aren’t as itty bitty (“Big” is a 7-year-old 1st grader and “Little” is a 4-year-old preschooler), and we’ve added some girly fun to the mix with soon-to-be-2-year-old “Pink”. They adore my fun-loving, handsome husband, “Lenny”, and they seem to think I’m ok most of the time too.

I write about my life. And since I’m your average mom, most people seem to feel I write about their lives too. I talk mostly about the head, heart, and belly laughs of parenting. I love taking a simple moment and reflecting on how it shapes our perspective and spirit.

Since I’ve seen others do this, I’ll share a few fun facts about my bloggity goodness.

#1: I hosted 60+ bloggers at Yahoo! Headquarters for the Yahoo! Mother Board Summit. Not only was it a career-shifting event for me, it was the beginning of some of the most wonderful blogger friendships I could imagine.

#2: I’ve been writing about all things magical and itty bitty at Disney Baby for almost a year now.

#3: Another awesome Mother Board member turned friend, Christina, started a new blog collective site in October (after a bedtime roommate chat at BlogHer) that I’m thrilled to be helping her grow. Project: Underblog gives a voice and platform to bloggers without concern for their numbers and stats. We celebrate small and mighty voices. (If you’re interested in submitting, we’d love to hear from you.)

#4: Our family may be a little bit obsessed with all things UCLA. (Lucky shorts, an engagement, birthday parties, future dreams, dinner soundtrack…)

#5: I love working with The Mother Company, Common Sense Media, and The Avielle Foundation to ensure that parents are really thinking about what we can do to raise good people and foster community.

No doubt there’s a lot more to me and this blog than a few bullet points, so I hope you’ll enjoy looking around. Check out my “Other Popular Posts” section to get a taste of my softer and sillier side. I look forward to hearing from you!
