Here’s an excerpt from my latest post at Project: Underblog. Given that Big’s had a chance to learn more than he ever wanted to about striking out since I wrote this, it’s been awhile. But it’s a great reminder, and I like it. I hope you do too….
Last weekend at my son’s Little League Opening Ceremonies, one of the speakers used a famous Babe Ruth quote, though he worded it a bit differently than I’ve found it online. He said:
“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”
While the quote was meant to inspire kids in freshly laundered white pants, t-shirts two sizes too big, and ridiculously adorable baseball caps, it really stuck with me.
