**UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed. Thank you for your interest, and date on!**
Date nights? Of course we have date nights. There’s always Pizza & Wine Friday. You know, unless we have other Friday night plans. (Like we have for the past month and a half straight.) And every now and then we watch an On-Demand movie. I figure my falling asleep (Every. Single. Time.) only increases our quality time together because Lenny has to spend the next morning telling me all about the ending. We also love cuddling up to the iPad to watch Scandal. That’s a date, right?
The truth is, after being away from the kids and investing in a nanny during the day, going out at night just isn’t all that appealing to these two homebodies. Unless we have plans with friends or a special occasion to celebrate, we tend to date right from the couch.
Which is why I love the concept of Confetti dates. This new, local (to me) company sends you a date in a box, and you get to stay in, while sharing a new experience with your partner. Based on our experience, the anticipation and discovery of all of the cool stuff inside the beautifully presented date box was a big part of the fun. Since I don’t take away from your potential (PG) adventure, I’ll limit the details, but we were sent “the silver screen” date to try. It included a tasty snack and a couple hours of entertainment. A great date, indeed. (Though I think a couple of the other options hit our sweet spot more…I bet you can guess which ones.)
When the date was over, I simply repacked the box with the items that needed to be returned, put the pre-paid return label on, and handed it to our mailman — all in a lot less time than it takes to track down a babysitter.
Sounds pretty great, right? With Confetti, you can buy a single date, or a monthly subscription service. You can also order Full Dates, where everything needed is included (for $50-70 each), or Just Dessert Dates, which require you to pick up a few key components on your own ($25 each). Right now there are 4 dates to choose from:
[the silver screen]- Transform your living room into an old-fashioned movie theater.
[the great indoors]- Experience some of your favorite things about camping from home.
[napa white]- A romantic white wine tasting and baking experience.
[napa red]- A romantic red wine tasting and baking experience.
*GIVEAWAY*: Could you use a romantic night in? Leave a comment on this post saying which Confetti date sounds best to you before 11:59 PT on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 and you’ll be entered for a chance to win the Confetti date of your choice. One winner will be selected at random and your mailing address must be in the United States.
Disclosure: I was sent a Confetti date at no charge for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
