This week? Well, this quote pretty much describes how I’m feeling this week. (Which is ironic since, you know, my blog is all about using words.) I was tempted to just disappear entirely for the week, but some things have been happening around here that I wanted to share quickly.

First of all, my lovely and talented WordPress expert updated my blog design. I’m loving the simplicity of it (if only she could work some backend magic on my house!), and I hope you will too. I happen to think it’s easier on the eyes, easier to subscribe to, easier to share…

I’ve also been lucky enough to be published on a couple of other sites recently. In case you didn’t discover these through my Facebook page, I wanted to share them here.

HuffPo Parents featured (an updated version of) my birthday letter to Big on their (gulp!) Teen, Parenting, and Mom pages this week. I’ve been overwhelmed by the generous response you all have given me on Facebook. Thank you. You can read the post here:
A Birthday Letter to My Tween Son

I also did a review for Dot Complicated on a new product that aims to help tech-obsessed parents like me focus on what really matters (yep, I’m calling myself out). Here’s a sneak peek:

“As a corporate mentor of mine once told me, perception is reality. So if my son thinks that I’m texting or playing games (and not, you know, doing very important work like declining overzealous product pitches), I might as well be. And what kind of mom does that make me? Well, at the very least, a distracted one.”

Thanks for reading…in the places my words end up untied, that is.

This is SO great! Both Matt and I are so guilty of the same thing…. and wish that I were not so distracted by my PHONE when I could be spending time with those I love. Just tried to order a box…. do you know if they are selling them yet? Will dig a little more on their site. Loved this Amy. Thank you!
