It’s only fitting that the week of Mother’s Day, I’d be sharing pieces I’ve written about motherhood. Both happen to be on other sites, but are really meaningful and I hope you’ll read them, hear their messages, and even share them with moms you want to honor and celebrate this week.
The first is a piece in a series called Mosaic of Motherhood. Awhile back, when my writing friend, Dena, wrote a piece that BlogHer featured on their homepage, she was thrilled. That is until the nasty comments about her version of motherhood (being a stay-at-home mom) started pouring in. She realized that rather than attack one kind of mom, she would celebrate all kinds of moms. So, each week day this month, a different blogger will be sharing her own story of motherhood. It started with Dena’s, followed by Lisa’s, today is mine, and there are many more to come. I hope when you read my post, you’ll realize that, no matter how different your experience is, chances are, you’re exactly the same kind of mom I am.

Note, as part of this series, there will be a couple open link ups where all bloggers can share their feelings and experiences with Mother’s Day (5/8) and stories of motherhood (5/29). (For details, click here.) If you’re not a blogger, share your thoughts on various posts in the comments. The idea is to build each other up, so the more people who engage, the better.
Also, in celebration of Mother’s Day, I have a piece on Huffington Post Parents. It’s for you. Each and every one of you. I admire, respect, and celebrate you—this week and always!

Here’s to hoping you are celebrated in little and big ways this weekend. You deserve it!
