I’m thrilled to be partnering with Minute Maid to bring you this post celebrating the parents who have inspired us this back-to-school season. As always, all opinions are my own.
The last couple weeks, my social media feed has been filled with adorable pictures of sweet little faces heading back to school. Proud parents around the country dressed their kids in brand new (non-elastic-waist!?) shorts, combed their kids’ freshly cut locks, and snapped a picture—often including a beautiful hand-made sign signifying the children’s grades for the year. But, like the majority of things on most parents’ back-to-school to-do lists, I forgot to do that. All of it.
Of course I knew back-to-school season was coming. But we’d settled so nicely into the laziness of summer that I rode my denial all the way to the parking lot on the first day of school. That’s when it hit me…here we go again.
Starting right then and there, I found myself chatting with other parents in the same boat. I’ve experienced moments of “wow, I could never pull that off the way you do”, moments of “ooh, I’m totally going to start doing that”, and moments of “this is what made all the difference for us”.
It’s become quite clear that, as parents, this is our new year too. It’s a time to share practical ideas, lift each other up, and celebrate new beginnings together.
So thank you, moms and dads who have inspired me so far this school year. My latest post on the Minute Maid Good Minute blog is dedicated to you. To read it, click here. Then, I hope you’ll join me in thanking the parents who have inspired you this new school year in social media using #minutemaid and #doingood.
